A mobile appointment has two preparations: the dog’s grooming brief and the property setup. Finish both before the arrival window. A groomer who reaches the address but cannot park, enter or connect to the agreed utilities may be unable to start.

Walk the appointment before booking it
Confirm the exact address, legal stopping place, building access and whether the provider needs power or water. In a condo, ask management about commercial access and loading rules before promising the space. Give the groomer the buzzer name, elevator instructions and a phone number that will be answered during the arrival window. Keep the dog securely inside until the groomer says the transfer can begin.
The day before
- Confirm which mobile model is coming: van, in-home or pickup and return.
- Recheck the address, buzzer, unit, loading instructions and arrival window.
- Reserve building access or loading space if required and permitted.
- Send current coat photos and disclose tangles, home trimming and handling sensitivities.
- Confirm the service, estimate, inclusions and approval threshold for changes.
- Name the person who will answer during the groom and receive the dog afterward.
For in-home service, clear only the space the provider requested. Secure other pets, remove trip hazards and confirm water, power, ventilation and cleanup expectations. For a van, keep a safe route to the stopping place. Do not promise the curb will remain open if it cannot be reserved; ask for the provider’s fallback.

At arrival
Verify the groomer and vehicle before handing over the dog. Point out any change in coat, movement or behaviour. Repeat the most important limit and the number to call before added work.
At return
Ask what was completed, what the dog found difficult and whether access or workspace affected the appointment. Check the invoice against the estimate and record actual arrival and finish. That turns the first booking into a reliable plan for the second.
